[anthropologie windows]

I've been sick the past few days, so I'm sorry for the lack of posts.

So, anyways, the other day I went to anthropologie to obsess over the pretty things that I will never buy :)
However, the most eyecatching thing wasn't a piece of clothing - it was the amazing window displays!

These flowers are cut from old plastic bottles, then painted. I want to make one of these for my room, although sadly I do not possess the patience or the skill to cut dozens of plastic flowers.

{kate.moss//longchamp}

Longchamp, at least where I am, has become a BIG trend lately (those nylon/leather Le Pliage bags). Now, Kate Moss, who has been the face of the brand for a few years now, is trying her hand at designing bags for the luxury leather goods brand. Part classic-elegance and part modern day Moss (about one of the bags, Kate says it's "great for Glastonbury [I assume she's talking about the music festival] - you can hold two drinks and put it over your shoulder, it's perfect!" Okay then... I'm assuming you're talking about two WATER BOTTLES, Kate, right?).
That being said, I do like the "Glastonbury" bag, as it's called. It's like a hippie-ized Longchamp, with this fabulous braided leather trim. The "Ladbroke" is my other favorite - it's slouchy and black, the perfect neutral.
I feel like some people may say that Kate isn't strictly a designer, but, she's a model - she's been wearing great clothes her whole life! And, she has great style, too. I wish I had a Topshop near me so that I could purchase her line from there :(
The only thing I'm not so keen on in this collection is the zebra print lining. I've just never been that  big on zebra print. Perhaps I'm too traditional.

Anyways, I have to get to some homework now. It's supposed to snow tomorrow (snow day?!) so that makes me excited!

xoxoxo,
Sophie

Joan Smalls also attended the event. I had to put her pic up because she is one of my favorite new models.

{wowers}

Truthfully, I wasn't all that impressed with the couture collections this season, so I've decided to reminisce about spring 2010. I LOVED the fresh-faced makeup at Chanel - very classy, and it doesn't look like the models' eyes are being weighed down by mascara. I think Lily looks lovely in the pic above, she's one of those people that looks better without a lot of makeup.

Front row seats:

Claudia Schiffer - Looking chic.
Very sweet! Natalia Vodianova and her daughter Neva.

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a few days - it's been a busy week. Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.

{little.white.dress}

[all photos from style.com]
Hello everyone! It was, all in all, a rather uneventful Groundhog Day (do people in other countries besides the US celebrate Groundhog Day? I don't think so. To explain: it's a silly little holiday where we see if a groundhog sees its shadow).

Ok, I think that all non-Americans are pondering the sanity of our country at this moment. I don't blame them :)

Well, I have this newfound obsession with LWDs, aka little white dresses. And, of course, as is true every spring, there were quite a few of them in the 2010 RTW collections (From top, Bottega Veneta, Alberta Ferretti, Chanel, and Carolina Herrera). The only problem is they can be troublesome when delicious desserts are served - i.e. evil stain-ers. Grrrrr... I have a fair number of clothes that have been ruined by overzealous consumption of messy food.

bye bye for now.

[from vogue.co.uk]
Burberry-model, Harry Potter actress, freshman-year college student and now designer. It sure has been quite a year for Miss Emma Watson!

[from peopletree.co.uk]
Everything in the collection is made from organic cotton, and it is all made my hand by Fair Trade groups in countries like Bangladesh and Nepal. And, it's relatively affordable! Which is always good, especially if you're on a 15-year-old budget like me :)

Caroline Sieber at the Chanel Haute Couture show (!!!). I didn't know who she was, so naturally I Googled her, and found out that she is one of the five muses that Karl Lagerfeld has selected for Chanel. Good choice, Karl. She looks chic and elegant, exactly what I think when I think Chanel. And she looks amazing in this dress!

Sadly, I have homework tonight. Imagine that! Always putting a damper on my wild partylife (kidding!) I've got to do some biology and read some Salinger, so it's time to hit those books. Have a nice evening everyone, apologies for the extra-short post.
