During the summer, I am, admittedly, such a sucker for all the flowery prints and other boho patterns. I'm not really the hippie-type (you could say that I look a little more (OK, maybe a lot more) to Audrey Hepburn for my personal style choices than, say, Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane fame). However, there is some inexplicable appeal to printed maxidresses, fringed leather bags, and beaded sandals.

I am loving this look from Urban Outfitters - it's part 90's grunge-girl, part 60's flowerchild (not that I'm either!). Personally, I love scarves for summer, especially for a chilly evening out. You can grab this at urbanoutfitters.com for $28.

I love Free People clothes - sadly, they're a bit pricey, and I'm definitely one for a bargain! The sale section of the website is a great place to check out for cheap accessories ($10 sunglasses, rings, and jewelry abound).

Again, I apologize for not having posted in forever!!! School is always taking up a lot of time - and I've got finals coming up... hopefully I'll be able to make some time for my blog :)

Thank you Google Images LIFE Photo Archive, Urban Outfitters, and Free People!

[back]

I haven't been on in forever! It's just been so hectic lately, especially with school and exams and such. Thankfully, I have managed to keep my sanity, though I am not entirely certain how.
I was in New York a couple weeks ago - love the city! While there, I got a lovely blue and white, bohemian-style dress - at the lovely price of $17! It is ultra-comfortable and I cannot wait to wear it!
I am super-excited, as well, for Liberty of London's collection for Target. While I was in NY, I saw the absolutely beautiful color-explosion sixties-style pop art flower amazingness that was the advertisement for Liberty of London for Target. And, the best thing is, the canvas from the billboards will be made into limited-edition bags! The clothes are beautiful, too, check them out here: http://www.target.com/b/ref=sc_fe_m_left_slot_3/184-9192248-4295063?ie=UTF8&node=2241595011

Anyways, I will try try try to post here more often, thank you everyone for your lovely comments, they completely make my day :)

[anthropologie windows]

I've been sick the past few days, so I'm sorry for the lack of posts.

So, anyways, the other day I went to anthropologie to obsess over the pretty things that I will never buy :)
However, the most eyecatching thing wasn't a piece of clothing - it was the amazing window displays!

These flowers are cut from old plastic bottles, then painted. I want to make one of these for my room, although sadly I do not possess the patience or the skill to cut dozens of plastic flowers.

xoxo,
Sophie

{kate.moss//longchamp}

Longchamp, at least where I am, has become a BIG trend lately (those nylon/leather Le Pliage bags). Now, Kate Moss, who has been the face of the brand for a few years now, is trying her hand at designing bags for the luxury leather goods brand. Part classic-elegance and part modern day Moss (about one of the bags, Kate says it's "great for Glastonbury [I assume she's talking about the music festival] - you can hold two drinks and put it over your shoulder, it's perfect!" Okay then... I'm assuming you're talking about two WATER BOTTLES, Kate, right?).
That being said, I do like the "Glastonbury" bag, as it's called. It's like a hippie-ized Longchamp, with this fabulous braided leather trim. The "Ladbroke" is my other favorite - it's slouchy and black, the perfect neutral.
I feel like some people may say that Kate isn't strictly a designer, but, she's a model - she's been wearing great clothes her whole life! And, she has great style, too. I wish I had a Topshop near me so that I could purchase her line from there :(
The only thing I'm not so keen on in this collection is the zebra print lining. I've just never been that  big on zebra print. Perhaps I'm too traditional.

Anyways, I have to get to some homework now. It's supposed to snow tomorrow (snow day?!) so that makes me excited!

xoxoxo,
Sophie

Joan Smalls also attended the event. I had to put her pic up because she is one of my favorite new models.

{wowers}

Truthfully, I wasn't all that impressed with the couture collections this season, so I've decided to reminisce about spring 2010. I LOVED the fresh-faced makeup at Chanel - very classy, and it doesn't look like the models' eyes are being weighed down by mascara. I think Lily looks lovely in the pic above, she's one of those people that looks better without a lot of makeup.

Front row seats:

Claudia Schiffer - Looking chic.
Very sweet! Natalia Vodianova and her daughter Neva.

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a few days - it's been a busy week. Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.

{little.white.dress}

[all photos from style.com]
Hello everyone! It was, all in all, a rather uneventful Groundhog Day (do people in other countries besides the US celebrate Groundhog Day? I don't think so. To explain: it's a silly little holiday where we see if a groundhog sees its shadow).

Ok, I think that all non-Americans are pondering the sanity of our country at this moment. I don't blame them :)

Well, I have this newfound obsession with LWDs, aka little white dresses. And, of course, as is true every spring, there were quite a few of them in the 2010 RTW collections (From top, Bottega Veneta, Alberta Ferretti, Chanel, and Carolina Herrera). The only problem is they can be troublesome when delicious desserts are served - i.e. evil stain-ers. Grrrrr... I have a fair number of clothes that have been ruined by overzealous consumption of messy food.

bye bye for now.
